Our Mission

The primary purpose of the AAMU Corporate and Educational Round Table is to promote international dialog for sustained engagement with experts, scholars, policy makers, and business leaders in an effort to advance viable partnerships for economic, community, and workforce development.

The University

Located in dynamic Huntsville, Alabama, the historic, hillside institution is a picturesque view in the city’s northeastern quadrant.  Nestled in the foothills of the Appalachians, the University is rich in heritage. Founded by a slave, Dr. William Hooper Councill, AAMU is a higher educational leader in forging discussion and debate between educators, policy makers, and corporate executives.

The University’s Business/Industry Cluster was organized in 1969, an outgrowth of the National Alliance of Businesses.  For almost 40 years, the University has build partnerships and alliances via the Cluster organization.  The Washington Monthly (2006) placed AAMU among the Top 30 national universities.  Every year, the University attracts a Nobel Laureate to address its students, faculty, staff, and supportive public. Further, via its land-grant mission of teaching, research, and outreach, including cooperative extension, the University remains an international leader in transforming people, organizations, and communities.

The Process

Invitations will be made to world-class academicians, corporate leaders, and policy makers.  Other interested individuals may apply, be nominated, or be recommended by nationally recognized individuals, organizations, or corporations. Each application will be screened by an expert advisory panel.  Papers selected for presentations will be eligible for review for potential inclusion in a peer-reviewed publication, the  Journal of Corporate and Educational Relations.
