Technical Services (Acquisitions) serves as a clearinghouse for the ordering, receiving and processing of retrospective as well as current materials (print and media resources) needed to support the undergraduate, graduate and doctoral programs of the University. The unit strives to secure needed materials for the LRC collections as quickly and as inexpensively as possible within budgetary constraints.
Requests for materials can be submitted in person using Book Request Cards that can be obtained in the LRC or submitted online through the Online Request Form. Technical Services (Cataloging)
The LRC's collection is catalogued using the Dewey Decimal Classification system for call numbers and Library of Congress Subject Headings. Cataloging Services is responsible for the integrity of data in the Horizon online catalog. The goal of Cataloging Sevices is to catalog and process materials so they may be available to patrons of the LRC as soon as possible.
