Please be sure that all documents are in the Graduate School Office before the deadlines to obtain regular admission. Apply Online ($25).

Academic Requirements :
Have a minimum grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 GPA scale at the undergraduate level from a regionally accredited college/university.
Have a minimum score of 400 on the verbal portion and 400 on the quantative portion on the GRE. Some programs may require higher GRE scores.
MBA students are required to have a minimum GMAT score of 350.
General Requirements :
- Submit a completed application for admission and the non-refundable processing fee of $25 (or a printable version of the application costs $40) to: The School of Graduate Studies, P.O.Box 998, Alabama A&M University Normal, AL 35762. Online applicants can pay by credit card or can mail Money Order, Cashier Check or Personal Check to our office.

- Two copies of official transcripts must be submitted from all institutions attended after high school. An official transcript showing degrees awarded and date awarded must be forwarded to our office directly by the institution attended. If you graduated from Alabama A&M University, we will procure your transcript provided that you do not have a financial hold. Students who obtained their Bachelor's and/or Masters degree outside the United States must have their transcripts translated course-by-course by the World Education Service (WES).

- Submit GRE or GMAT Scores : The general Graduate School requirement is the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) General Test. However, the MBA program requires GMAT instead of GRE. For information regarding the computerized GRE, call 1-800-473-2255. North Alabama Students can contact Prometric Testing Services, Decatur, AL at (256) 350-8324. See address details below.
If you have already taken the GRE or GMAT with in the past six years, write to the testing service and request that official scores be sent to the Alabama A&M University (AAMU) Graduate School. Please note that score reporting usually takes about three weeks. The AAMU code is 1003. |
- All evaluations and recommendation letters need to be sent directly to the Graduate School by the evaluators. Please provide our address to the evaluators. Please send us your updated resume and statement of purpose.

- If your native language is not English, you must take the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) and have the testing service send an official TOEFL score report directly to the AAMU Graduate School. The AAMU code is 1003.

- If you are not a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident and AAMU has not committed financial support to you, you must also send us documentary evidence that you have other financial resources to meet your expenses while at AAMU. Evidence can be in the form of a statement from a bank officer, affidavit of support sworn before an appropriate officer, etc. Until this is received, we cannot certify your visa eligibility.
