Maintenance
Includes skilled trades of carpentry, plumbing, HVAC (mechanical), and electrical. Also includes locksmith personnel and painters. These employees respond to routine, urgent, and emergency work orders sent in by building occupants on a daily basis. Please see work order call-in number below. Key personnel include:

Operations
Includes the custodial program for all campus facilities. The University runs two shifts for the custodial program - 3:00am to 11:00pm and 5:00pm to 2:00am. The number of custodians assigned for each building is generally based on square footage. The shifts custodians' work is adjusted in order to maximize efficiency and increase productivity. If you have a complaint related to the custodial program, please call the work order call-in number at 372-5746. Key personnel include:

Grounds
The grounds staff maintain over 3,000 acres of University property. This includes athletic fields, plant beds, grass cutting, tree/shrub trimming, etc. The grounds department has won the coveted City of Huntsville Beautification Award this year for the second year in a row. Key personnel include:

Construction
The Facilities Department manages numerous construction projects during the year. Several of these projects are "initiated" or planned by various University departments and then monitored by Physical Facilities from start to finish. We strongly encourage all University Deans, Vice Presidents and Directors to consult with Physical Facilities in the early planning stages of any construction project. Key personnel include:
