Microsoft Office XP

The Microsoft Office Certification program consists of four training tracks, which are Intro to PC’s, Internet Essentials, Microsoft Office XP Beginner and Advanced. Microsoft Office XP Courses are taught at a beginner level referred to as Core and/or an advanced level referred to as Expert each of which consists of five separate parts.

1. Intro to PC’s
Description: This course is appropriate for office professionals who use computers in their daily job functions. This class is designed to cover the fundamentals of working with Windows and hardware identification. The student will learn to identify the various elements of Windows, work with the mouse, manipulate Windows, explore menu items, operate system features and file management.
Course Length: 8 hours
Prerequisites: No prior technical experience required.

2. Internet Essentials
Description: This course is appropriate for office professionals who use the Internet in their daily job functions. This class is designed to cover the fundamentals of using the Internet. The student will learn basic Internet terminology, use search engines to find information, to view Web Pages, to browse the Web and to use Bookmarks and/or Favorites, use email features.
Course Length: 8 hours
Prerequisites: No experience using the Internet is necessary. An understanding of Microsoft Windows is required or an intro to PC course.

3. Microsoft Office XP Beginner
Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access and Project
Description: This course follows Microsoft’s Office Specialist core level of certification training, the premier Microsoft desktop certification, which is a globally recognized standard for demonstrating desktop skills. At the end of this session, the student will know the basics of Microsoft Office Specialist.
Course Length: 48 hours
Prerequisites: Experience with Windows ME and some Internet experience.

4. Microsoft Office XP Advanced
Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access and Project
Description: This course follows Microsoft Office Specialist master level of certification training, which is the highest-level credential one can earn in the Office Specialist certification. Office Specialist Masters demonstrate a breadth of productivity skills on key desktop programs by passing a combination of core and expert Office Specialist exams developed from the Microsoft Office Suite.
Course Length: 48 hours
Prerequisites: Microsoft Office experience or training at a beginner or core level.
